Why this mango watermelon smoothie is amazing!

As a watermelon mango smoothie, it tastes amazing!

Seriously, this weight loss mango smoothie tastes absolutely amazing.

The mango and watermelon go so well together, and the coconut yogurt then comes in and adds such a great depth of flavor to it.

And watermelon smoothies are so fresh, and mangoes so sweet and tropical, you will be convinced you are on an island paradise when you drink this mango watermelon smoothie!

Honestly, mango + watermelon + coconut is amazing!

It’s a mango coconut smoothie

Something I have discovered over making hundreds of fruit smoothies is that mangoes and coconut go REALLY well together!

There is just something about their flavor combination that works so well!

One of my favorite ways to get coconut into smoothies is by using coconut yogurt.

It gives you that texture like normal yogurt would, whilst giving a slight coconut flavor and being healthier than normal dairy yogurt.

See my notes near the end of this post as to what to look out for in regards to picking a coconut yogurt, as they are not all created equal.

If you need a quick one to pick, I can recommend So Delicious unsweetened coconut yogurt, because it is made with organic coconut milk and has no added sugars.

Once you try this, you will really want to try some other smoothies with coconut yogurt in them!

I highly recommend this mango and blueberry smoothie (which has coconut yogurt in) and this mango and coconut smoothie recipe (And hey! You could use any leftover mango you have from this recipe!).

It’s a mango smoothie without banana

Sometimes when searching around for a mango smoothie, you keep finding smoothies with banana in them.

Bananas can have quite a unique flavor that a lot of people don’t like, so you’ll be glad to know that this is a mango smoothie without banana!

It’s a versatile mango watermelon smoothie

A great thing about this watermelon and mango smoothie is that it is really versatile.

If you are a fan of watermelon, you can easily add more of it without affecting the flavor or increasing the calorie content too much.

Likewise, if you are a massive fan of mangoes (like I am!!), you can certainly add more mango to give it a sweeter mango punch.

And if you like a thicker smoothie, or you love that coconut flavor, feel free to add more coconut yogurt, because it works great even with double the amount of coconut yogurt!

You can make it a frozen mango smoothie

You don’t just have to use fresh mango with this watermelon mango smoothie for weight loss.

That’s possibly a really useful thing, because fresh mango can quickly become messy when you start cutting it up!

if you use frozen mango in this, just bear in mind that it will make the smoothie slightly more watery, so you may want to offset that with a bit more coconut yogurt.

It can also be a great idea to make this a frozen mango smoothie because, when you combine the frozen mango with the coconut yogurt, it can make it taste even more fresh, fruity, and generally amazing! So go for the frozen mango if that sounds great to you!

You can make it a frozen watermelon smoothie

As with the mango, feel free to use frozen watermelon and make this a frozen watermelon smoothie.

As with the mango, it will make the smoothie slightly more watery, so you could offset that with more coconut yogurt.

The great thing about using frozen watermelon is that it is much easier to store than fresh watermelon, and you can add it to other watermelon smoothies easily, like this amazingly fresh strawberry watermelon smoothie.

If you like frozen watermelon smoothies, you should check out this watermelon pineapple smoothie, which also works well as a frozen watermelon smoothie.

How to make a mango watermelon smoothie for weight loss

It’s super easy to make this mango watermelon smoothie!

It only contains 3 ingredients (plus water), and all are easy to get at stores, whether as fresh or frozen ingredients.

You can also freeze the leftover fruit, and keep the yogurt in the fridge for future weight loss smoothies.

Ingredients

  • Mango – As detailed above, you can use either frozen or fresh mango for this mango smoothie.
  • Watermelon – As with the mango, you can make this watermelon smoothie with frozen or fresh watermelon.
  • Coconut yogurt – For the coconut yogurt, be sure to get a coconut yogurt that fits within your dietary requirements. Why do I say that? Because when you look in to them, you will soon find out that “coconut yogurt” does not always mean what you might think – some coconut yogurts are pure, some are actually dairy yogurts with coconut flavoring, and some are a mixture. I like So Delicious unsweetened coconut yogurt because it doesn’t have added sugars and is made with organic coconut milk.

Instructions

  1. If using frozen mango or frozen watermelon, blend first in to a crushed ice so that they blend in to the final smoothie better.
  2. If using fresh mango or watermelon, blend the watermelon first, then the mango.

Notes

  • If you are using frozen watermelon or frozen mango, it's best to blend them first, otherwise you can end up with clumps in the final mango watermelon smoothie.
  • Choose between using 160g or 200g of watermelon. The less you use, the thicker the final mango watermelon smoothie.
